Born in South Korea in 1972, Cho was raised in Los Angeles. Having graduated from USC with a degree in English, Cho first taught English at a high school in California. While teaching, he still appeared in theatre in Los Angeles and in Korean print ads. In 1999, he had a small role in the movie, American Pie, and subsequently appeared in the sequel. He also had supporting roles in several other films, including American Beauty, Bowfinger and Down to Earth. In 2004, Cho appeared alongside Kal Penn in the movie Harold and Kumar Go to Whitecastle and the sequel, Harold and Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay. Cho has also appeared in several television shows, including Off Centre, House, M.D., Ugly Betty, How I Met Your Mother and the short-lived Kitchen Confidential. In 2009 Cho appeared as Sulu in J.J. Adam's new Star Trek movie.
Cho plays Dominic Witten in FlashForward, an FBI agent and partner of Mark Benford. In the pilot episode, Dominic doesn't experience a flashforward at all, which quickly leads him to conclude that he will be dead in six months time. Dom sets out to try to solve and prevent his murder.
